We had the 29th annual "Old Car Picnic" in SF Golden Gate Park today and I saw this '65 Chrysler 300 convertible with an interesting gauge cluster.

Jeezes. Why doesn't he just hang an underdash A/C unit to go with the other junk poised to smash his knees up into his ballz...

All the original wiring is now hacked beyond repair.

The use of Stewart Warner, Sun and whatever that gauge is on the far right is the stuff that gives me nightmares. I have to have gauges that match.

But enough of my OCD... Let's see.... '68 side markers, cornering lights, Cal Custom dimmer switch pedal, 4 way flasher switch, toggle switch on the kick panel, cheap 8 track player..... etc. I think that's an older accessory gauge panel, quite possibly JC Whitney catalog item. Quite possibly someone did a lot of shopping there.

The Nova... Geez... I never understand why people have to be reminded what kind of car they are driving. Otherwise (except for the brake pedal.. I don't like "billet") it's fairly clean. I would have picked something other than the Ford banjo style steering wheel, but that's me.

What a hack job on that car! To each their own, I guess. It may have an L grill but it is no L. All L's came with buckets and a console and it has the standard 300 body trim.

did you ask that owner if it was a 67 nova?
