Did factory offer auto trunk release 1962 Imperial--I have a 63 unit

I have a nice 62 Imperial coupe. I bought a complete remote trunk release set up from a parts yard that had parted a 63 Imperial. I am pretty sure it will fit just do not know if that was offered in 62. could not find it in my 62 shop manual.

theres no mention of a remote trunk release in the 62 sales brochures or owner's manual but there is in the 63. i dont see why you couldnt put it in a 62, im sure its been done before

Even tho it may not have been offered, the 61-63 cars are nearly identical except for small trim pieces? I don’t see why you couldn’t simply install all the pieces and they’d probably fit fine
