I have a dual point distributor from a 68 383 could someone tell me what car it come from ? The numbers on it are 2444358 prestolite. Thanks.

Mopar distributors are not vehicle specific. Application would be Dodge/Plymouth distributor as a '65 383 with "special cam" ie high performance engine, probably police application and others. Could also have been used on the late '64 production engines as mopar was famous for doing stuff like that, typically mopar used dual point distributors on the top end multi carb applications, Chrysler used prestolite distributors with both the prestolite part numbers and mopar part numbers. Mopar produced units will typically have the 7 digit mopar part number such as yours. My best guess is that someone probably swapped the older dual point distributor into your engine.

In some cases, the same distributor part number might have been used in more-than-one model year. If it was on a '68 383, it might well have been a '68 Road Runner 4-speed car, rather than a '68 383 automatic.
