Do 1968 steering wheels bolt onto a 1966 column?

Greetings Moparians!

I've stumbled onto a nice 2 spoke green steering wheel which matches Mathilda's green well, and would enable me to devote the necessary time and effort to restoring her much cracked 3 spoke wheel to its proper beauty. BUT, WILL THE 1968 STEERING WHEEL FIT? It LOOKS LIKE it will, but if any of you Wiser Elders KNOW by experience if this is so, or not, I'll be grateful!

Thx in advance.

1966 columns are smaller diameter. 1967 they got larger diameter because of the collapsing idea.

so that 1968 wheel hub might be too large of a diameter for the 1966 column.

try it and see if the wheel hits the column.

Thanks BIGTIME! Since I'm not the owner of a 1968 steering wheel yet, NOW I can safely steer AWAY from any such situation, and proceed to either buy a cheap modern wheel with the adapter hub, or just seek out another wheel of the 65-66 period, and work on my lovely old green wheel after installing a viable substitute.
