Do not really see that the "Oil Catch Can" would be much of a buyer incentive. At $47k there has to be a better way to ruin a nice challenger.

FYI, I installed a catch can on my Ram. It works. My intake and throttle body is as clean as a whistle.

That's a great sketch. Unfortunately in order to achieve that look you would have to significantly alter all body panels and the roof. No "simple" bolt ons. It would be cool to see someone try though.

Those things do help keep oil residue out of the air intake and runners to the fuel system. I always thought they were over kill on a naturally aspirated engine. Most of the ones I have seen have a petcock to drain the oily residue as the unit gets full. I never thought it was a good idea to put that stuff back into the engine as aerated oil is often highly oxidized and it is not really politically correct these days to piss it out on the ground. The blower motors in years past used to use a suction flow valve on the exhaust to hopefully burn the crap up in the exhaust gases.

Poor confused car, it doesn't know if it's a "lowly" Roadrunner or a "mighty" Superbird? A Plymouth or a Dodge? I can hear it shouting "what am I"?! Seriously, if you're going to mess with your car that much, pick one theme and run with it. Maybe Mr. Petty can clear this up.

I seriously doubt he knows anything about this car other than the builders may have licensed his name. The Petty team were not the original builders of the winged race cars. He quit driving Plymouth racing cars in 1968 to drive a ford Torino. In 1969, the Dodge Daytona had highly successful run with the winged cars. In 1970 the Plymouth Superbird was introduced to lure the Petty team back to the Plymouth race fold. Petty had a highly successful season driving a Superbird in 1970. By 1971 the cars were effectively banned via the usual practice of adding extra weight to highly successful Mopar cars, that coupled with a restriction of 305 CID displacement rendered the cars no longer competitive on the grand national circuit.

C'mon Dave, I was joking. And I just reread the ad, by installing the taillight overlay it transformed it into a '70 Plymouth. Case closed.

Photo of the Petty Team '70 Superbird is attached below. Now that was a beautiful race car.

Taillight overlay my ass. Kinda like the wife asking "Do these pants make my butt look big?" Of course you say no because you can't say it looks big because it is big.

True, it would require lots of new sheetmetal and quite a bit of labor. Not necessarily a bad thing, as it would make it more exclusive. Also, theses days you could find a donor RT Challenger close to the $10K range, or buy a wreck from Copart.

Looks like someone else changed their mind about how cool it would be to own a Superbird Challenger.

Hey, this is 2018. The car is non-binary. It's what it wants to be.

I guess Canada is more accepting of these things. There were Plodges and Cheviacs back in the 50's, and they used the same service stations as all the other cars too.
