I've been working on redoing my interior panels in my 66 300. Today I was able to finish up both drivers side and the rear passenger side. The white pearl vinyl I bought from Legendary so it would match the seat covers I have on order.

Those look killer! The wife wants to know what kind of sewing machine you're using. Hopefully I can put her and her fancy industrial Pfaff to work on our panels.
It's Cobra class 18 made by Leather Sewing Machines | Leather Machine Co I used 138 thread. The machine needs to be able to sew through the board, carpet, two layers of vinyl and the binding board on the back of the carpet all at once. I also backed the board with a nylon strip kinda like on the original boards. It was the absolute limit for that machine. I have another that will sew through up to 7/8". I should of used it looking back.

Wow those are beautiful!

If I remember correctly you really didn't want to do this, clearly if you wanted a side business to your leather work, there would be tons of guys that would kill for a set of panels like those.

If shipping to Europe wasn't so expensive I would totally request a set for my imp, very nice!

Thanks! I wasn't interested in doing my seats. What they charge for the seat upholstery is a bargain. After doing my panels I realize what they charge to do panels is a bargain also lol. They are sewing my covers with the black stitching in the inserts to match.

That's some top quality work there. Hats off to you.
FYI..... Vinal upholstery material can be bought at most trim shop suppliers for much less that legendary, SMS, or Year One will charge. Search the sample books at a good trim shop and anything in vinal can be found. I bought 10 yards of white pearl with the exact correct grain for $210.00 including shipping. SMS wanted over $800.00 for 8 yards, same stuff.
