Easy quest? What is this trunk rubber thing for?

Hello,

I was wondering what the rubber (?) thing is on the picture and what's the function. It's just on one left inside of the trunk as you all know I suppose.

Mine is missing. Where can you buy these?

Does the car have light package? It looks like where the switch for the trunk light goes and a rubber bumper ended up in it's place. Is it threaded if you pull the bumper out?

The picture is not my car. This picture is. It's a 69 300 convertible.

It seems not to be threaded.

I have a trunk light that goes on when the lid is open in a certain angle.

The quest continues........

:dontknow: Good question, I have never even seen a "flange" like that on a C body trunk lip.

A big part in solving the mystery is, is that part of the fender stamping or is that spot welded on?

Right! But it looks like part of the lip.........
