Engine oil prime

Should I expect to see oil at the rocker arms while manually priming a 383? I've got good pressure at the lifters, none coming up through the oil galley to the rocker shaft.

Oil is ported to the rockers as the cam rotates, one side at a time and not continuous flow.

I’m pretty sure I don’t need to say this but there is a right and wrong way to install the rocker shaft as well.

Looking at the diagram in the service manual i'm pretty sure the engine needs to be rotated to feed the rocker galleys.
All's good, I think. (except for the push rod I bent reassembling).

you'll know when it's in the right spot. different positions for each bank.
