    Hi,

    Has anyone recently bought anything from this company? How was your experience in dealing with them?

    I'm asking this question as I bought an engine mount replacement kit from them (via their German dealer - mentioned on their website) on 07/01/2019. So far I'm still waiting on the parts...

    Some of the Feedback I received so far, via their German dealer:
    08/05/2019: Supplier (Schumacher) can't deliver at this time. Manufacturer said about 4 weeks delay, but i'm sure he needs more time;
    08/10/2019: Asked for an update but Schumacher did not come back to them;
    10/08/2019: Part should be available again in 1-2 weeks;
    12/12/2019: Confirmed they could complete the order in a few days time;
    01/27/2020: Again requested for an update but Schumacher did not reply, I just sent another reminder.

    Just checking if this is an exception or if their outfit is really this bad at production planning & customer service...

    Welcome!
    On their website they are out of stock on almost everything.
    I find that very odd.
    There were rumours about them having money issues.
    It has been long enough so if you paid by credit card contact your card people and explain what has happened and get your money back. Your credit card people can launch an investigation against Schumacher if necessary.
    I bought from Schumacher in the past with no problems but not recently.
    Good luck

    Same here, a few years back I purchased motor mounts for my car with no problems. I checked out their website last week and EVERTHING is on back order. I'd start trying to get my money back.

    Here's what I understand, from reading about troubles with this vendor, is going on....

    First, Schumacher doesn't make these parts. He buys from Imperial Services. Imperial Services has had all sorts of issues, possibly a change in ownership, but they've developed a reputation for not delivering and even taking money without product. They changed names for a bit to "ProAmerican" but I see they are back to being Imperial again.

    Then (again from what I've read) Schumacher himself is getting up in years and not interested in doing a lot of business. That doesn't excuse anything, but as far as I can see, I'd say that they just aren't the good source they once were.

    That's unfortunate. I bought a set of their motor mounts years ago. They had them in stock so they shipped them promptly at the time.

    If you do get their mounts, note that the bolt that goes through the frame is larger than the bolt on a factory-style mount. This caused me a problem on one side. The hole in the frame was slightly misaligned so the Schumacher bolt wouldn't fit through. If I had known this in advance, it would have been easy to enlarge the hole when I had the engine out, but I was already installing the engine when I discovered this. If possible for your situation, test-fit the Schumacher mounts on the frame before bolting them to the engine and installing in the car.

    There website hasn't listed anything in stock, but if you call, they have (had in my case) parts in stock. I've gotten two sets of mounts and shims with no issues and they were shipped promptly.

    When Steve (can't think of his last name rite now) the original owner of Imperial Services out in the boonies just north of Frankenmuth, Mi.) the company ran like a well oiled Swiss watch. I dealt with he and Honey His Significant Other many time back in the '80s and '90s and never a problem. I thought when he sold out it was just because the business got to be too much for the two of them to handle??? I'd try and hook up with the Imperial car club Hierarchy or even the Forward Look Hierarchy. Steve supplied lots of Motor Mounts, Transmission Mounts, and Push Button Cables to both those two clubs. Somebody's gotta know something and have some current information, Jer

    I used IS for new motor and transmission mounts for the '62 New Yorker I owned. Was glad to learn they were in Frankenmuth, one of our favorite places. He told me I needed to return as they had added 12,000 square feet to Bronners since our last visit!!

    Sorry to hear they've gone down. The owner was at one of the Flings in Van Nuys; got to meet him face to face. Nice guy.

    You can only buy so much Christmas stuff or eat so many Chicken Dinners At the Chicken Joint downtown Frankenmuth. You want a real treat in that town? DO the all make car show they put on in town there I Think in August. And if you're into wood carving theirs a "dwelling" about half way between Bronners and the Chicken Joint on the west side of the main street that the City of Frankenmuth imported a true professional wood carver and set him up in Business back in the mid '60s. I took this Gentleman a factory walnut stock from one of my Pre '64 Winchester M70 rifles, gave him a down payment and got in line in the summer of '68. I got the stock back and paid the remainder just before the State Fair in Detroit in August of '71 and he begged me to let him keep the stock thru' the end of the state fair because he had a booth there and wanted to show off His Talent and I happily obliged. I'd be surprised if he was still doing business himself there but I'm sure some of his better students are doing well in that city and probably in the same building. and the car show inside the city limits covers as much ground as Griffith park does in Van Nuys, lol Look for lodging in Flint or Saginaw or rent something big enough to camp in the back set. Check with the Frankenmuth C of C for the thingz I've mentioned, Jer

    Which of the two Chicken places do you like? We like Zenders!. I loved the Coffee place too; bought some great Almond Amaretto!

    But, about buying only so much Christmas stuff, you apparently do not know me very well. I can't get enough!!!

    Nice pic of your Christmas trees and Decorations Snooty thumbs up.The Chicken House I think is Zenders. Big White 2 1/2 story place that was probably a private residence once upon a hundred years ago on the west side of the main street in the middle of town with all the parking on the south side of the restaurant and property. As for Christmas, When we lived in Michigan our home on 3 acres was 2100 sq. ft. 12 miles north west on Ann Arbor. Wife was a Speech Pathologist in A.A. for 35 years. Our living room was 18'X 24' with the kitchen at one end and wide open was 18'X18' and the west wall, Kitchen and Living Room was all Glass from floor to ceiling looking out at decking and solid woods. On the opposite end of the living room was a solid lava rock wall with a 36"X 52" fire place opening an an 8"X8"X15' hand hewed barn beam mounted for the mantle. The ceiling at the gable was 13 1/2' So we had some pretty good size trees and invariably we picked the coldest day of the winter to that point a few weeks before Christmas to go tromping thru' the snow to cut our tree. And That 15' Mantle was full oh the wifies Dickens Village "Stuff". Talk about not being able to get enough of those houses They were everywhere. including the mantle, Kitchen Island, the Baby Grand in the living room. And the last time we were in Bronners she just had to have 4 more of those littie houses that had been discontinued and the prices were jacked up of course. After unloading MUCH STUFF when we moved south 5+ years ago our Christmas tree today is now a 3' tall Fiber-optic cute little bush that adorns our dining room table and we both love it. Can't say we miss the White crap tho' lol. Jer

    I have used both in the past, in my last transaction with Imperial Services I was lied to on several occasions, promised parts etc with constant excuses, then he stopped responding all together but kept my few hundred dollars. I paid by PayPal, conveniently he had excuses and delays until I could no longer file a claim, then all of a sudden no contact or response at all. I used to speak highly of them and ordered a lot of stuff, sad they decided to cheat people.

    I picked up a pair of the Tri-Y hears for my '76 New Yorker. They were pricey, but super high quality and ceramic coated. Fit well. With a few reversible mods. They did a great job by me.

    I just cancelled the pending order via Moparshop in Germany and got a refund. They were super helpfull in this case ( my mailthread with them is 21 mails long).
    Apparently Schumacher hasn’t been a reliable partner for them the last year either.

    I hope this helps future buyers...

    Hey Kristof (or anyone) just wondering where you went to get your mounts if you did in fact find them? I am trying to find some slant 6 to 360 mounts and am running into the same issues you had.

    I bought poly-locs for the 72 D100 from them in 2015 without a hitch (the 360 Magnum tore through 2 sets of OEM style).

    Pity about the current situation.

    I did not look any further... My region (Flanders/Belgium) implemented a full mandatory tech inspection for oldtimers, so there’s plenty of other stuff to work on the next couple of months in order to get the car to pass...
