Hey, new member here. Was hoping some one could decode my fender tag. I want to put a new vinyl top on this year, wanted to confirm factory color. Thanks in advance.

@73Gold — thank you for posting the tag. The mymopar.com decoder that I like to use to save time is down at the moment, but here goes from memory:

CS: Chrysler NYer Brougham

T: 440 4BBL 8 CYL
3: 1973 (model year)
C: Jefferson Avenue, MI, USA (plant)

166805: Sequence number

E85: 440 cid 4 barrel V8
D34: Automatic Transmission

JY6: Gold Poly Exterior Color
G6Y4: Interior Trim - Vinyl buckets, Gold
000: Full Door Panels

B16: Scheduled Build Date: Nov. 16, 1972
197199: Order number

V1W: White Vinyl Top
H51: Air Conditioning with Heater
R13: Deluxe AM Radio (5 1/2 Watts)
L31: Hood/Fender Mounted Turn Signals

G11: Tinted Windows (All)

M45: Fender Skirts
P31: Power Windows

Your car’s SBD is exactly two years later than my ‘71 Monaco.

Btw your car was owned at one time by member @Clutch Carnage in Illinois. He posted about it here when you put CS23T3C166805 up for sale last fall, and included the build sheet. Glad to read you’ve changed your mind and plan on keeping the car!

I own a ‘72 NYB 2dr and a 73 NYB 4dr myself. I started The 1973 Chrysler Thread to gather info and post stories about those cars, and would love to hear from you about your car’s history.

PS: You’re in Indiana — any chance you might bring the car to the Illinois River Run on May 2nd, and/or the 2021 C-Body Midwest Show on June 26?
