While looking for something else, I found a 2014 post by @Makou linking to a fender tag decoder that (unlike others that have since then been retired) still works as of May 2024 -- at least for fuselage Mopars:


To use it, one first enters the VIN at the above link: upon hitting "return", one is then directed to a second page where the codes from the fender tag can be entered.

Edit: does it work perfectly? For example, it needs 3 digits for the paint codes, so for 1969 one needs to add the first letter (e.g., T for X9; D for R8; E for R6; etc.). Still, it is a very nice resource.
