So I now installed 14" steelies on my car with hubcaps. I thought I could secure them with zip ties, but obviously you can just put the caps on when the bolts are fastened.
But then there's no way to reach through the gaps anymore.
So I guess I have to hope and pray that those f*#"ers stay in place and don't fly off on the highway.
Or does anyone have a better suggestion??

Open up the prongs a bit in the inside of the hub cap so they grip tighter.

They sit super tight, I really had to punch them in position. But still... I've seen plenty of dog dishes and caps flying off especially in highspeed bends

Hubcaps tend to stay on better than wheel covers from my experience. So if you have hubcaps, I wouldn't worry. If you're talking about wheel covers, all you can do is what Rexus31 mentioned, in addition to double checking your installation to make sure they're seated fully.

Think police dog dish. A cover for the hub not the wheel.

In nearly 50 years of driving mopars I've only had 2 wheel covers come off.
One involved a curb when I was young and dumb. The other just recently on the Monaco because I didn't fully seat the cover after I bought new tires. They are difficult to install without denting so I never let a service shop bang em on with a rubber mallet.
A wheel-flex squeak was common on those 70's wire covers and trim rings though.

On the Mopars with 14" rubber, the wheels have a lot of flex when newer radial tires replace the factory rayon or nylon tires. The only real fix is to take corners easily.

Semantics as far as I'm concerned! Since when does a wheel cover not cover the hub? I be digging that house blocked by that beautiful Poncho!

Someone took the idea that a man's home is his castle quite literally. Victorian era home, probably about late 1880's. The archery slots are a nice touch.

Hubcaps cover just the center part of the wheel, or the hub area.
Wheel covers cover that too, plus the rest of the wheel.

Alright, that calms my nerves :D I´ll have someone driving behind / next to me t have a look wether they run smooth or wobble. I think when they sit straight and tight physics won´t make them fly off, if they start to wobble the rotation will work on them and pop them off.

Not bad, building was finished in 1873 and used to be a water utility. The water was stored in the 4 towers at the corners which created high pressure and with the aid of pumps the water was pumped to all buildings in the city connected to the pipesystem.
