Well an exciting day. Took momma for a ride with the top down, still checking for problems. 20 miles no sweat. Pulled in garage and gas pouring out the new gas tank.
Drained the tank then jacked it up and wedged myself between gas tank and differential. Whoever put the tank in before i got it, didnt get the sleeve locked holding the float. It had vibrated off. Took an hour to get it back on correctly and locked.

Fun, fun, fun

Sorry that happened. I think you might be talking about the lock ring? At least you fixed it.
A ***** to get gas smell out of auto clothes.

Glad the rest of the test drive went well. Also, a lucky car. It waited until you got home to have a problem.

I always use the original lock rings. It seems a lot of the reproductions are too thin, and they eventually come loose.
I thought at first the gasket was bad or too thin. Looking at it at 5 inches with glasses is not too clear haha. When i pull the ring off, you could see it had never been locked on.
