Hello, I’ve read this forum for a while and now have joined. My first car was 69 Fury III sedan with 318 for 2 years, followed by 71 Fury III with 383 that served me well for 10 years. Along the way there was a 70 Fury coupe with paisley, and a 69 Newport coupe. None of my cars have ever been show quality, including the current ones, but I’ve loved them!

The “Deuce” is a 66 Fury II with a slant 6, all original unrestored, except the previous owner put on baby moons and a Clifford intake with 4bbl and duals. I have the original wheels and intake, but have left those mods on. Curiously, the certicard indicates the original owner was a corn company in Iowa, and there are 3 oil changes entered on the glove box data card. No clock, power anything, and it runs/drives wonderfully and we’ve cruised +11,000 trouble free miles. I let anyone drive it and it’s a thrill.

The “Mullet” is a 69 Fury III with a 383 that has terrible body work and paint, but runs and drives great and is a work in progress. Plus, my dog wanted a car too, so she gets to ride in this one. Everyone wants the “Bullet”, but at my level we are stuck with the Mullet. Fun times. Thanks much

Thank you all. I am more on the west side closer to Eau Claire, but always look forward to meeting new folks. We went to the Iola car show in July, and I met a fella that had a red 69 like mine, except his had a 318, black dash and carpet, white seats and panels, and power door locks (!). They are out there and we had fun connecting. This was his 1st car from high school days from 40 yrs ago, and now mostly restored. Very nice. Thanks

Welcome @Slantdeuce!
Love that large aircleaner on there, I've never seen that before, even on others that have the Clifford/4-barrel.

We had a Fury II very much like that one when I was a kid, same blue interior but was silver and had fenderskirts. And was 383-4 and 3.23 suregrip.
It's the car that planted the seed for me.

My dad wasn't a hotrodder but I knew even as a kid that the car was kinda special to have that drivetrain in a Fury II and a 4dr. I have seen only 1 car in that color combo/drivetrain since then.

Hello and thank you for the comments. The previous owner installed the Clifford with a bitty open sided air cleaner which I don’t like. I found this one on eb ay and took a gamble it would fit on the carb and under the hood, and it’s perfect. Bought the sticker at Iola car show, and it fools most of the unaware at shows, as do my hubcaps. Kinda fun listening to these dudes explaining the air cleaner/wheels to their friends…. Have driven 11k miles with not even a hiccup. Love my (6th) Fury, and glad you got one too!
