Hi Guys
Have almost all interior removed . I am now at The head liner on 68 Plymouth Fury. At the point of removing bow from the clips on side rail. Having a he_ of time. Which is the correct way? Remove by the clips or remove just the bows? Any help is appreciated. Thanx Frank

I plan to do the same job next year on the Monaco so will be watching this thread closely. Please post lots of pics so we can all learn. Thanks in advance.

Since mine had a tear I just completely cut out my headliner and then removed the bows after numbering them for position.

The bows go in a certain order front to back. On Fords, every bow has a color designation painted on it for
position and I don't think Chrysler's would be too much different. This is where an OE shop manual comes
in handy. Mine says you can leave the clips. It is very important that the bows are verticle upon installation
so that means installation of the headliner has to be length wise first (stretched) and then side to size. A
heat gun is an absolute must. There's a tool for tucking - I recommend you buy one or you'll have sags
and diagonal wrinkles from improper stretching.

Which is why I had a pro do that one task on the car.

25 years ago I did one on my 72 Challenger, in white. My first and only attempt, a reproduction headliner, on a windy February day, outside, by myself. It came out very well, I dont wanna do it again... Do they even make headliners for C bodies?

I need to see a follow up report as you requested Fred . I'd like to know how the product is

Wow.. Thank you all.. After writing this I went back out to the garage and tried again after watching some you tube videos. I saw one guy pull on just one side flipping the bows from vertical front to pull back to vertical rear of clip. Bow popped right out! Less then 2 minutes and it was down. Yes I already know it won't go back that easy. I did find a service Manual online and purchased it. Been helpful in some ways. My last task is removing the dash itself. I think the only thing holding it in is the steering column. Then I can shop for the correct colors of all the pieces. Then either cover them or paint. Not sure yet. Thanks everyone for all the help
