heater hose routing

just wondering what does it do if the heater hoses are not routed right with the flow in and out going the wrong way ? seems like it really does not matter.

What will happen if the flow is reversed is that hot coolant will enter the heater core even with the temp valve shut, and then sit there... so you won't have as cool an OFF setting as you would if the flow was correct.

Additionally . . . it would be like "reverse flushing " a radiator to get all of the accumulated "deposits" out of it . . . which can ALSO CLOG the innards of the core solid so NOTHING works except the fan motor, from my own experience.
