How does fender light uncouple

I am trying to un couple connection. It says turn to lock. When i turn opposite way, it has tension under a spring, but will not uncouple. I have used grips, but does not seem to want to let go.

Otherside just popped out easy. Think I need to cut wires and try and get out on bench.
