Then I've got lucky a few times.

How hard is it to call around to a a couple lock smiths and ask them if they know how to do that. I've watched it done a few times and it's not rocket science.

Explain the principal to anyone who's ever worked with a locksmiths files and tools (and is somehow unaware of the impressioning principal) and he can do it I'll bet if he's willing. Hell with a small bit of practice I think I could do it.
I'm also in FL... the land of the half assed. You should see some of the crap that someone who calls themself a "professional" will put out. Professional should mean more to folks than getting paid. Most of the craftsmen I have met here learned their trade elsewhere. I have fiddled with minor locksmithing tasks before, you are correct... not rocket science. It would take a great deal of patience and possibly more than one blank to get it done I think.

We're a helpful and friendly bunch really. Thanks for posting the pics

I made them full size for you .. check out the website tips forum :)

Its nice to see there are forums with Good helpful people in them.

thanks for making those full size. Its kinda rare that you find a site that allows you to post full size images.
The previous owner says he has the keys, but its going to be Saturday before i get back over his way. I may just removed the bezel and try and start it before then. I am pretty sure i will at least need "Points" the first chance i get i will definetly change out the points and add a electronic ignition... I cant wait to cruise this big thing...

Be careful when buying new keys. I bought three sets of spares at three different places and all three are different. Hardware store, locksmith and NOS off ebay. I'm not sure what the big deal is. Maybe someone can link us to a place that sells OEM NOS blanks that are guaranteed?

Unfortunately you don't have an original to compare it too. Great looking car though!!

What's funny about this is that you guys are rambling so much about Smith's and their age that you forgot. He hasn't even asked the question about how to get in the trunk with NO KEYS because he doesn't have them either.

Bouchillon performance has the bezel removal tool, think they're about 17 bucks or so and that'll keep ya from messing up the bezel.
Contacted Bouchillon performance today 5/20/22 they don't have this tool in stock dont know if it will be restocked. Classic industries have them for our C bodies
