I found my imperial!!

Got the engine and trans back Friday. Been working on it since getting everything I can ready for it to drop in this Tuesday.

She's ready to go back to her home tomorrow. Spent the evening cleaning up all the bolts and other hardware to get the engine/transmission together along with engine and transmission mount bolts. So glad I decided to rebuild the original engine/transmission for the car. I need to get a pic of the #s from the transmission on here yet.

Got the engine/trans in today. Had plenty of help from my dad, sister, sister bf, my gf, and an old ironworker buddy if my dad's. Found out a regular cherry picker will not extend far enough to drop it all back in. Ended up using a chain fall from a doubled up truss in my garage. Dropped in fairly smoothly. Less than two weeks until mopars in the park. I plan on firing it up for the first time this coming Monday. More to come!!

Small update. Installed the driveshaft, hooked up the trans gear linkage, installed the front accessories. Didn't get to clean up the ac compressor like I wanted, but I anticipate the h53 probably won't work anyways and I'll just leave everything hooked up so I can drive the car for now. Also got the new transmission cooler lines plumbed. Rebuilding the carb tonight. Then it's just small things like priming the engine and installing the dist. Will be ready to fire up Monday morning.

Got the 440 going! cam broken in. All went well thankfully. Rear bowl on the carb leaks so I'm gonna steel the holley off my plymouth for this weekend. Also need to get a good set of plug wires and make them by hand. These cheap plug wires are just no good lol and the single exhaust is a bit rusty towards the back so it's louder than it should be. Not going to have time to get duals installed before the car show this weekend. But I'll be there!!

and I know "garden hose" needed to get it washed off so I can buff it out this week!

Have done quite a bit in the last two days and took the car for it's first drive. Need to grab a few things today before I head over to mopars in the park!! Can't believe I'm going to make it. Had my old buddy don help me revive the old paint and I think it looks pretty presentable now!! See you at the show!!

She survived the car show. Only had a few issues. Power steering pump leaks. Gonna find a shop to get it rebuilt. And the carb needed a little tuning. Was able to meet the guy I bought the car from. His name is Allen. Took him for a ride and I believe it made his day! Got to chat with a couple fellow c body site guys! Was very nice to meet you! Any more updates and I'll keep adding to this thread!

It was great meeting you at Mopar’s in the park. Good on you for meeting your goal to get it there.
A few more tweaks and you will have it tidied up.

Pics from my last cruise in the imperial. I’ve only put a few hundred miles on her this year but still driving her whenever I get the chance!
