My 71' 383 has a broken piston. all I need is one and I can finish the engine and put it in my 1967 Sportfury convertible. I have tried all the parts sites, you cannot just buy one. I don't need 8 for $300 i just need one for under $80. Can anyone help me? Hemichargerrt01@yahoo.com

The reason they only sell a set is that the aftermarket pistons are a different weight than the OEM pistons (usually a little heavier). Machine shops usually have sources for pistons that don't require 8 at a time. But to get ONE piston and rod, it would be best to find an engine core supplier, which supplies core engines to rebuilders and machine shops. But they'd want to sell you an engine-set of piston/rods, too.

RockAuto has listings for Sealed Power. uempistons.com is the Silvolite and KB online catalog.

At this point in time, the only way to get an exact-match piston is from a salvage yard engine. The replacement brands build something "one size fits all" 1959-1971 in nature. The salvage yard piston should be the same weight as the one you're replacing, too.

Hi, I have a set of nos piston & pin assembly's, part #3420210 and is std. On the piston is a #3512685.
I will sell one for $80 plus shipping.
Good day.

This is informative info, thanks cbody67 and 65 500. It make sense to try to find a used piston of the same year and ultimately it would be best to replace as a set.
I did goggle the part # and found a site that indicated it was for the '70-'71, and of course I can't find it again. But on My Mopar site the piston is listed for '68 to '70 std. 383.
I'll keep this set together.
Hope Adebrea finds what they need.
