Ignition Left on by mistake

My car stalled in my garage today and the key was left on for about three hours.(Points Ign.)The Coil and the Ballast res were hot and the car started up and ran fine.How bad did I screw the pooch ?

If it started and ran, it probably is ok. Check the points for excessive resistance and call it good.

How does this affect things when a Pertronix/Accel conversion has been done?

Some of the early variants of Pertronix would short out if the key was left on for an extended period of time. Problems were corrected on later versions. If it still starts, usually is is still ok.

I checked the Dwell today and it was at 22,So I think I will replace the Points and Condensor.
