Howdy all
Recapping my story, I started a year ago to extract my late brother's 62 300 from his back yard. I got it running (with help from here on FCBO) but the brakes were hopeless for the short term.
Time has flown without much progress on the 300 since I got it running. We've moved from CA to Washington state, leaving the 300 at my late brothers house in CA. Now, I'm back to try again to extract the 300. It was sunk deep into the ground, with barely enough clearance to get a floor jack under after clearing away the weeds and small trees growing all around it. I finally managed to get it up far enough to change out all four wheels and examine the brakes, which were stuck solid on both fronts.

I've had to unstick the brakes, finally having to use a puller and lot's of penetrating oil to remove the front drums and brake shoes. So now the car can roll so that it can be put on a transport.

I am looking for a transport from CA to WA. It will be tricky to get the car out of the back yard, through a back gate and into a narrow alley. I previously extracted a 1966 Plymouth Valiant from the same back yard but we just used muscle power. I'm sure with the 300 it will take something to tug it out. Is there anyone ready to do such an operation? Or do I need to get the 300 extracted and store it in a lot until a transport will pick it up? Any references for experts in extraction located in Southern California (Corona) would be much appreciated. And recommendations for transport, too!

Thanks - Jim

It will be far easier to arrange transport if is sitting where it can be easily grabbed by a multi-car trailer.

Perhaps a local auto retrieving co with a roll back and/or a bobcat can get the car out to where it would be accessible to a transporter....?

It runs but not moves. The Bobcat idea is about right, I think. Truck and trailer might be the answer but I will check out the recommended transporters. A friend with a Bobcat would get all the beer and pizza he and his crew could gobble. Thanks for the suggestions!

Another option 4x4 truck with winch or tow chain/strap to pull it out where it could be loaded.

I am also a long term member on the HAMB
There is a guy on there goes by the handle Ben D. He has moved gear for many people across the USA and has never ever received bad feedback and specialises in moving our precious old cars/Hot rods/ Vintage and even aircraft parts. Head to the HAMB and look him up - he's well worth the effort to talk to even if he cant do it he will direct you. I am in New Zealand so having trust in someone unknown 12000 kms away is a big leap of faith and I have faith in this guy.

Check with your local Towing company, they could pick it up and might even know of a transporter. You could also post it on Central Dispatch as a non runner (Must have a winch) and figure on about $1.00 a mile. I haul automobile for a living.

Have you actually tried to push it? I had a 64 880 convertible and an 880 four door. They were the easiest cars I've ever tried to move. On flat ground, one hand with little pressure. At first meet, the 'vert had aired up tires weeds all around it. 2 of us were all that was needed to move her out to the trailer.
