Jakes 383 rebuild

Got the old motor out yesterday with the tranny, mounts are shot. The trouble with a 64 dodge 880 is that the only replacement motor mounts run 450 bucks. That's not going to happen, I found this and am looking at fabricating new mounts.

Looked at updating the ball and trunion with this kit, but that would run me about 200 with me fabricating it myself, then going and having the driveshaft balanced, so a new boot kit is on order.

I finally got around to put the motor in the car today. Probably wont be able to try and start it for a week or two, busy with kids baseball and soccer and going camping. I do not want to rush break in and start up.

Jake: What happened to the paint color on your engine ? It looks to be blue, rather than the Turquoise it was. Maybe its just my monitor. . .

Its the rattle can **** from ma mopar. I am hoping that once I get it fired up and hot, it will dull it some.

Is it better to put fuel filter before or after the mechanical fuel pump? I am thinking after so you don't starve the pump but don't you want to protect the pump?

one on my 70 shows filter after pump....would think a proper sized filter before mechanical pump wouldn't be a issue...will wait to see what others say..curious..

I was hoping someone had a pic of there throttle/kickdown firewall bracket. P/O used tye wire to hold it in the bracket, I cant find what I need to strap it in the bracket. Finally piece to the puzzle before I fire it up.
