Hi Folks.

I joined the site recently after many years of watching the site with great interest. I have collected a few cars over the years..just things I liked from my formative years starting when I became aware cars were "pretty neat", even before I learned girls were pretty neat too.

My Dad had me under the hood of his new 1964 (it was 1965 but it was "new" to us) Pontiac GTO, 389 "Tri-Power". I was safely tucked under his arm, both of us under the hood while he was revving the engine..I recall wind and noise of course, but most of all it was "thrilling". My mother bolted from the house screaming and broke up the party, but it was too late. I already was a gearhead for life.

So I have been hooked on cars ever since, including even the not-so-nice things we did in my uncle's '70 Imperial one fine summer evening in 1975 around midnight. No, not the 'backseat" stuff of youthful "exuberance", but learning that a 440 could do "do-nuts" endlessly (and loudly) in the school parking lot, or at least until the Staties showed up and introduced me to the "backseat" of a C-body Gran Fury police car...for the first and last time as a result of being in trouble at least.

Anyway, while I like most anything old and cool, most of the "fleet" is from 1965 through 1983, all American V8's of the largest displacement made at the time. My C-bodies are from 1967 to 1978. So this site obviously covers and specializes in that era of vehicle. I'm happy to be a part of the experience for as long as I can.

My best to all of you. Thanks in advance to any member who posts a welcome.

Welcome to the Best C body Forum on the interwebs Ray, you'll fit in nicely I'm certain. I checked out your gallery ... you've got some really nice rides

Welcome to the site fellow Michigander! Very nice fleet, indeed!

Welcome. Great cop car collection! Cool 64 GTO story! I have a 64 GTO and another member on this site does as well. I saw a 77? 440 Fury police car on craigslist in Cincinnati for $4500 the other day if anyone is interested btw.

Welcome.......nice Formal!

Can you post a few (a lot) more pictures of the car in your avatar? It looks very nice but I can't really see it.

What an amazing fleet of Formal cop cars! Thanks!

Stan, have you looked at all the Formals in his gallery? Outstanding cop cars!!!

Are you going to bring one of your cop cars to Chrysler's at Carlisle in July? There's going to be a record number of FCBO members and there C-Bodies attending this year.

hi again. I havent been to Carlisle in several years due to work conflicts unfortunately but always liked going in the past. Remarkable vehicles everywhere down there. i know this year will be no exception.

I dont get to very many shows more than 100 miles from home. I am lucky to have a few things I like, and that others might find interesting too, but i think i am a better "spectator" than "presenter" :headbang:

thanks.

There will be several of us posting hundreds of pictures of Carlisle on this site of this year's show. It'll seem like you are there...LOL!

I love the black 77 Gran Fury unmarked pursuit vehicle in your gallery! Man with some shiny mag wheels, that thing would look mean as hell!

thanks for writing.

as it sits its still kinda "menacing". back in the day i wouldnt wanna see it in my rear view mirror.

because its black, i have tried it with 17x8 in front and 17x9.5 in back and given the way it sounds (FlowMaster 40's), it had a great look.

But in the end, given their rarity, I have committed to keeping the police cars looking much as they did when they were in service.

take care and thx again
