I have a 71 C body rear under my drag car FURYIOUS. I need to install the long (3 inch) wheel studs. They are sold by knurl size. So I knocked an old stud out & measured it. It’s 668 on the spline & 637 on the shoulder. I have 625 too small & 685 too big. So what size should I purchase

Probably the size of the basic "shoulder" on the stud. The long studs should be knurled, too.

Knurl length can vary, from really short to OEM length. I'd opt for the OEM-length knurl, myself.

The longer studs are spec'd so you use open lug nuts. This way, you can visually tell if one lug nut is not torqued as the other ones are, at least from the amount of thread showing outside of the lug nut's outer surface. In other words, if one is LOOSE.

Enjoy!

I am assuming 1/2" studs, Speedway has a set that are 2 7/8 long.

Mr Gasket 4311 Competition Wheel Stud, 1/2 Inch

Jeg's has 3", they say .685, hole size .676-.683. Fit most Chrysler

Did you measure the hole size in the axle? You could always open the holes up to use the .685 studs
I already have 685 Too big. The 665 is smaller than what I took out so I doubt that will work. Summit has a 675. I think I can freeze them to shrink or slightly ream the hole. I’d like a 4 inch as I may have to run a spacer.

I just looked some more and from what I see it looks like 3-3 1/2 is the longest. This was on Summit and 1/2 by 20 thread.
