Wow.

As with anything collectible, condition is everything. Some of those items are ridiculously over priced. Some, depending on condition, are rediculously underpriced.

I could use some of the mags as upgrades. I'd love to see them in person.

Lots of guys are liquidating collections of stuff before nobody cares about it anymore... (and values plummet)

He should have gone through an appropriate auction house.

In terms of comic book realm dollar value, there's probably nothing really there for a comic auction house to mess with. A lot of his later books in average condition are only worth a buck or two. Even in mint condition the later book are $5.00 books, certainly not $10.

The earliest books are maybe $40-50 books in average condition. He may be underpricing these books.

He's close on some of the hardbound books.

His pricing on the stand alone inserts is ludicrous. The value is in the inserts still being attached in the magazine. Stand alone inserts are virtually worthless (except for the mischief you get by using them ;) )

Condition is everything. He's all over the place for pricing. He needs to have them professionally graded before he can accurately price them. I'd love to see them as I do need to upgrade some of the issues he has.

Comics, especially Gold and Silver Age, continue to go up overall with select issues and characters fluctuating with the latest Marvel movie release.

Key titles, Superman #1 and Action Comic #27 (first Batman) will always be the most valuable in the hobby. They are million dollar plus books in the right grade. Everything else trails accordingly.

Overall, comics hold their value pretty well IF you have the right issues in the right grade but there are highs and lows you have to ride out.
