So we got this a few years ago and one note the owner gave was not to fill the tank past half way. Well it was only a matter of time before that happened and while parked at a store gas and gas vapor began pouring out of the gas cap. Any thoughts on cause and or fix? Turning the gas cap released the pressure and it stopped. Does she need a vented cap? The one that’s on is aftermarket made in Mexico.

Beautiful car!

Generally, our cars do not need a vented gas cap. You can always buy a new gas cap.

Usually, pressure in the gas tank is controlled through vent lines at the front of the gas tank. Making sure that those lines and hoses are clear is the 1st step to solving the pressure issue.

Thanks! I’ll take a look this weekend.
