My 1965 Sport Fury Build

The Sport Fury is very much the same as the Fury III but for a few changes. The Sport Fury got Bucket seats and console in place of the bench seat and column shifter. The side mouldings and deck lid got the engine turned inserts instead of paint. Other than the wheels, Your car looks very much un molested. Nice find!

Thanks for the info!! I actually have the original rims and hubcaps that came with the car. The Owner previous to me swapped them out to the current ones on it just a couple weeks ago. I have the rear fender skirts too.

My wife and the neighbors decided to poke a little halloween fun at my project they say I will never complete.

Nothing to exciting for me lately. I’m sure I’ve said in the beginning. This will be a slow build. Removed a few items today to rebuild and/or clean up. Also popped the fuel line off today and got a nice dark surprise. I figured as much though when it come to my estimates of how long it’s been sitting.

Few more parts arrived this week. Carburetor rebuild kit from mikes carburetors. New coil (positive terminal broke off original), one of two fuel filters. Figured I would go through a few filters even if I “think” I have the lines all cleaned out. Still waiting for the new fuel pump to arrive. Also need to order a new valley pan gasket set. Valley is actually rotted on the front end of the motor.

Quick site question. Is there an app that I can use to view the site? Years ago I would use tapatalk I believe to participate on a few forums I was in for other vehicles.

Seems that water content was a little high from who ever last had coolant in the motor. Or maybe straight water who knows. Water pump housing was pretty nasty inside. The impeller actually broke as I was prying the flanges on the pump itself. So I don’t need to worry about pieces running through the cooling system thankfully.

Well after checking things over. The motor turns over freely. All the valve train moves freely. The plugs in it looked good. And now after a oil and filter change I know the engine builds oil pressure still.
