On some Saturday nights my wife gets together with her Filipina friends to go out and do something. Usually heading to a Indian Casino abut 90 miles away till early morning. I don't go. I'm not interested. I don't like staying up that late.

So I heard my cell phone in the distance early this morning and ignored it like I usually do. Then around 8:30 am, I'm still in bed enjoying the rest, and my wife walks in and tells me she doesn't know what to do since her car was stolen during the night. Now I am barely awake and tell her call the police and make a report. At which point I go back to sleep. I know, cold hearted, but I'm not doing anything at 8:30 am Sunday morning.

Later an officer comes by the house to take in all the info. The place where my wife parked her car is full of apartments and in general not a great area. Car isn't worth anything other than to get from point A to point B. Of course with the school week coming up, her work schedule coming up, my work schedule, and my two daily drivers being sticks we have an issue.

Could be a few days, could be two weeks, before the Concord Police might turn up the car. In what condition? I had been thinking of buying a 2018 and then put it off but now it might be on the front burner again. Of course, I have just a week as it is the end of a month and some incentives expire on October 1st.

I have a headache...

That's to bad, sorry to hear. Do yourself and family a favor and get outta CA. I have serious issues with that state, I'm surprised that you don't with the Unconstitutional BS that goes on there.

This is my cabinet.
This is where I go first thing every morning.

If it wasn't bad enough, my Tundra 4.7 blew a head gasket coming home from work. ****!

A Tundra actually needed something other than an oil/filter change and a tire rotation? My apologies. Good heavens!

Sorry to hear of y'alls misfortunes! Hope it all works out well in the end!

Is the car insured against theft? Even if it is it is still a big headache. Insurance companies love taking our money but when it is time to pay out for a claim they act like they are doing us a favor by giving us anything at all. Hope everything works out for you. I'll take 2 Naproxin Sodium please. :D

See if your insurance covers a rental car until the matter is resolved.

LOL, this is a 1990 Mazda 626 and no one would ever have collision or comprehensive on such a car as it has no real value. Nonetheless, it had 188,000 miles and was in perfect mechanical condition as I know the Mazda 2.2L engine backwards and forwards. A great driver which has been both down to Las Vegas and San Diego with no problem. Typical clear coat issues so not a great look on the top surfaces and my wife isn't the neatest person inside a car. Thank god I didn't get around to putting new rotors on last weekend.

Probably buy a car this weekend since Ford has incentives till Oct. 1st

Ahh.. I was thinking this was something newer...

Someone must have wanted that car, possibly for parts. They'll probably find a burnt out hulk in a week or two that's missing engine and trans.

I kind of doubt that as I have the only two Mazda 626 cars of that vintage in the county. Nationwide I bet there are no more than 50 on the road today. Now if it were a Miata then that would truly be the case.
