My new ‘67 Crown Coupe

Love the 67 Crown Coupe, and this one's really turning out to be something special!! Keep up the great work and thanks for bringing her back to life!!

Thanks, I have a couple of sets of calipers stashed.

Made some progress this weekend as I have someone local interested in it and I will need this ready to sell soon either way if he passes on it.
I pulled the rear drums for a visual inspection and they looked great.

A few more pics while I was back there. It’s a very clean car but not completely rust free, it has some blistering here and there and there’s very likely some bodywork that was done prior to its repaint back in the early ‘90s but it still shows very nicely.
I know the top pic looks pretty gruesome but I would never dream of misleading anyone and you can see the passenger side looks spotless and there’s absolutely no sign of anything more than normal surface rust anywhere on the bottom side.

I needed to get the car back down on the ground from the brake job, it’s been on jackstands since, collecting dust in front of my overhead door. The next thing was to put an ac unit on it that didn’t have a locked up clutch so that I could put the belts back on the alternator and actually start driving the car so I could see what else it needs or be able to come up with an as is value on it.
Since no less than 3 complete ac set-ups came with the cars I was able to bolt this unit on in about an hour.
I put 5 gallons of gas(gas gauge doesn’t work)in it and changed the oil and filter and hit the key. Once I got fuel to the carb it fired right up and ran relatively smoothly without ever touching the gas pedal.

I was happy with what I was seeing on all the crucial gauges with the exception of the gas gauge as I stated before but new sending units are readily available for the new owner.

Once I had it running for a few and I was keeping a close eye on things in the engine room I noticed a small fuel leak at the supply line on the carb and also that the valve cover bolts were pretty loose and the rear nut on the passenger side cover was missing. All easy fixes and after topping off the trans fluid it was basically ready for a test drive so off I went. Just down the street from the shop though as I don’t have it registered, insured? Yes! So test drives will have to be in the neighborhood.
I have to say it runs and drives very nicely so far.:)
I got back to the shop and treated it to a bath and put a couple of wheelcovers and a very nice hood ornament on it for another updated photo shoot.

I’m blown away, this car still has a correct carb.:wideyed:

It's a beauty, the '67 Imperials have really grown on me, an it's all your fault! Maybe if you still have it in two years...

I love this car too, I hope it stays local.
