I found a couple of Mystery parts in a baggie with my front kick panel screws. The bag was labeled
“Mystery parts under dash by cowlings. Plastic cowling spacers?”
I must not of known where they went 10 years ago and I still don’t know.
In the parts book I think it could be “clip, cowl side trim panel retaining (upper)”
It makes sense that there would be a clip to hold the top, but am not figuring it out tonight. Maybe I need a break for New Years cheer.

The forward mounting screw hole for the kick panels....

* I think * *maybe*
I will have to try it there. Some how I almost have it visualized. I will have to go through pictures again in that area to see if I accidentally captured it.
I am pretty sure it is not a window trim clip as I seem to have all of those.
If it is in fact p/n 2664466 there are 2 on every Mopar in 1968.

I found a picture of it in the parts book under the vent section. It does look like it mounts to the front of the vent. Not quite sure if I is a spacer, or what th function is. It doesn’t seem to do anything. 23-91-20

Now that I have it on and tightened down it makes sense. I think the vent door could drag on the cover if it wasn’t there.
