I don't have any suggestions for the Dallas area. There's a shop down here in San Antonio that I used for my alignment. They did a great job. He went through and made sure my torsion bars were at the same height so the car would align straight. We got them close. It cost about 60 bucks and has a 10,000 mile warranty. Its an old school shop. Called Southwest Brake and alignment. http://www.southwestbrakealignmentsa.com/

Find any shop that gives a computer printout of Factory settings, Before reading, After reading, and Variance from Factory. If everything is within specs after the alignment then it doesn't matter if a trained Chimpanzee aligned the car.

If told you need a $753 Goesinto Rod, ask to see it with your own eyes and have him explain why.

You don't live to far from the gas monkey's. Maybe they can tell you about a place. Ask Richard. He'll say WwHhhooooo!!!!

I hear ya,, but im right at the border age (43) that anyone younger than me grew up on jap crap, thinks a mazda is a race car, and the last kid that helped me at autozone had never even heard of a plymouth fury. I don't want anyone under age 40 working on this car :)

edit: ^^ I actually ran into those dudes last year at SXSW. I may drive over there. its across town, but I can back road it.

Big Al's tire shop in garland off of N. Garland and Miller. They do great work and they actually like working on the older stuff. That is who we used at the shop I used to work at in Garland. Oh and you do know that we are just down the street from each other right! LOL.

right on. i took my ft end stuff to superior auto mechanicks at 78 and crist. they said they use 'al' also. that shop always has a couple of hotrods laying around, i figured that was where to go. $40/ hr straight labor works for me. they are going to vat everything then pop the ball joints and bushings in.

i got my pitman arm yesterday, and im supposed to get the arms back from nicks monday.

hopefully by next weekend it will be back together.

i live behind the mall, come help me bust the pitman arm loose :)

Heck it doesn't take me 15 mins to get to the mall. I live just off of sachse rd and miles rd in Sachse. I have a pitman arm puller if you need to borrow it. Its a pretty heavy duty piece. I also have the ball joint sockets for changing the uppers if you want to do it yourself.

i may need the pitman puller, i was gonna try my 3-piece crank puller, but havent tried yet. the 1 5/16 nut is still on the spline. and its on there good.
im probably going to tie the idler arm to the frame then try to bust the pitman arm nut loose. i was gonna tie it to the fence and the old lady says ill pull the fence down. shes probably right.

Is the car drivable at all right now? I have an impact and the sockets to get it off. You could tote on over and we could bust that baby off if you want.

no its not drivable right now, the whole front end is out of it, and the shop still has the arms. I appreciate the offer though. if I cant get it loose, I may call a mobile dude with a torch and/or impact tools to swing by and pull it.

My number is 817 455 1405 if u do need it. I have an electric impact but it might not break that one loose. If u want to pull the steering box bring it by and we can get it done for u.

Got it......

I lived in Dallas most of my life before work moved me overseas. I had a wholesale car business and there is really only one place you can get a no BS answer and options on how to get it fixed right. See Gary when you go in don't let the counter help side track you. WAIT if you have to it will be worth it. Once you get to Gary explain what you have what you are trying to do now, (and later) ie. tires wheels suspension mods etc. He will give one of his guys instructions and he will monitor to make sure you get what you need. If you have a problem, bent frame, torqued K frame.....what ever he will tell you. He will also normally offer you a fix it now solution. That does not mean he will do it, he will tell you what needs to be done and lets you decide how you want to proceed. You will be charged for the alignment even if he cant make it stick so be sure that you have everything sorted to the best of your ability/knowledge.
I have been doing business with Gary since 1993 when he was a one man shop with one part time guy. He has always made anything I took to him drive better than new. If you have a frame issue Gary has the equipment to get it square but that would be up to you. A lot of the old Mopars are pretty tired and the unibodies are sagging a little and this sometimes can lead to alignment issues. I now live in Houston and I always trailer any project have rebuilt the front end on back to him in Dallas. I have made the trip 4 times in the last two years just to see him and looks like I will be headed back in the next couple of weeks. My 17 year son drove my wife's SRT Challenger over a couple of curbs, broke one wheel and the suspension is .......well that is another story. Good Luck.[h=1]Gary's Alignment[/h]
