Hi folks, I just purchased a 1966 Chrysler 300 convertible. A real barn find. It’s gonna be a father son project. Yeah I’m the dad. We have absolutely no idea what we’re doing… only the shared desire to do it together. That being said, my first challenge is that it has a floor shifter in it that is original. But it has a steering column in it that has a console shifter that isn’t connected. I’m trying to find a replacement for it. I have found a 1966 sport Fury steering wheel and console. Is it compatible with my car? Any help would me much appreciated.

Welcome got any pictures of your 300
I do…will give you a little look! Waiting for better weather to bring it home.

Welcome, from another Canuck, Chrysler guy! Pick n Pull in Edmonton, had three (3)C Bodies in their yard recently, might be worth checking out. John.

Cool, I think you bought this from Manitoba if I’m not mistaken. Have seen it for sale lately. Good luck and welcome to the club, I’m from Winnipeg.

Congratulations on your acquisition and your interest as a father-son team. I am in the process of testing my combo VIN/Fender Tag/Body Data Plate decoder and would love to run your car's data through it. Year 1966 is still being refined and I learn from each example. No charge ever and hope to make it available to all online. It would be helpful if you would post or PM a pic of your car's fender tag. The VIN is not critical for decoding, but nicely completes the report. You might find more data on a Production Broadcast sheet --often found tucked in behind the springs of the rear seat upright cushion. Samples attached. I also have attached a copy of a 1966 Newport window sticker for your collection. Keep calm, carry on and have a great week.

Welcome from a 67 300 rag top owner in BC. Like this a lot and you can have a ton of good moments with your son screwing around with this. I see buckets, console with vacuum gauge, fender top signals. What motor? Pose a picture of the fender tag, and everyone here will take stabs at what it was delivered with. This is a crazy good forum for assisting in getting this moving. All the best. CamShaft

I am gathering data to extend my decoder to '67-'68 Chryslers and other MoPars--and would appreciate a pic of your 300's fender tag--and, at least, the first seven characters of the VIN. The first seven characters of the VIN should look something like: CM27K73--followed by six digits. I trust the fender tag will look something like the attached. I expect to need to review actual content of your car in order that I can correlate the tag data to the car.
