I've been a member here for a short time, always been an admirer of the C-body's..been a GM/German car guy all my life. Recently bought my first Mopar C-Body....a 1973 Chrysler Newport Custom! I just love that car!!
Just had it delivered here in NYC to me a few days ago...looking forward to reading and learning from all my fellow C-Body guys!

That's killer, congrats! You came to your senses in fine fashion!

Car looks GREAT! Where did you find it? We gotta have lots more details :) Got to get us some interior pics as well! Welcome Aboard!

Thanks for all the kind words all!! I found it about almost a year and half ago for sale on one of the C-body forums and fell in love with her instantly. She was originally for sale, and then the owner had second thoughts and disappeared for over selling it. Then about 2 months ago I reconnected with the owner and we talked for awhile and agreed to the purchase.
In that 1.5 year span...lots of c-body ads for sale came across my eyes..(some from here, LOL)..some my other sources..and I passed on them. Good thing too, lol.
The car needs some work, but I'm no stranger to that...but It'll be my first Chrysler experience.
Car came with a 400-2bbl...which I'm not sure if it's a Holley or a Carter. Would like to change the intake and install a 4bbl...but stock, so an "original looking" air cleaner fits...I don't intend on making it "muscular". Some chrome bits need rubbing and some elbow grease. Needs a new vinyl top. and needs the front seats redone. and some other odds and ends. I havnt taken any of my own pics yet...a bit too cold here at the moment for posing shots, lol...but in the future I will.
Car came with alot of options like butterfly windows, dealer installed mud flaps with rubber tips, high back cloth/vinyl seats, push button trunk release, cornering lights, HD suspension, fender turn signal lights, AC...and some others.

One of my top priorities this winter will be locating a set of road wheels...hopefully I can find them 15x7 or 15x8...not sure if possible. Also I'm unsure of the bolt pattern for these cars.

All Chrysler C-body Road Wheels are 15" with a 4½" bolt pattern as is your car.

That's an Impala SS back there, right?

Welcome, stock carb should be a holley but not a 2300 style. Any pictures of the truck pulling the parking lot that your car came off of?

Nice Newport. You have at least a couple GM components in that Chrysler - the motors for the wing windows - if they are power - ("butterfly windows") would be GM units. They sometimes work in my past experience - never really all that predictable.

The factory carb on that model was a Holley 2210. They run well when they run well, but when they don't run well, it is often hard to get them to run well again. Typical Holley problem of warping castings as even the rebuilt ones are hit and miss. In my experience with the 73 400 engine with that 2 bbl carb, the 4 bbl carbs when added do not feel much better than those Holleys when they run well.

Some upholstery work and a vinyl top and you should be styling soon. How many miles on it?

Thanks! The butterfly windows are manual. There is 115,000 miles on it now.

That's a fine looking Newport! My first Newport 12 years ago was also a 73 (sedan) and now I have another 73 (2 dr) as a project car... Wish mine was as good looking as yours!
