I found/bought this 68 Fury this past weekend and accepted delivery last night. The seller advertised it as a 54k mile survivor. I remained skeptical throughout our 4.5 hr. drive until I walked up to the car and inspected it in person. I handed over the cash soon after. This is the best Mopar C-body survivor that I've seen to date. It's mind boggling to own a 48 year old car that looks like it just came off the showroom floor.

Enjoy the photos,
Bob

Best decision you ever made when you saw that car.

Edit: I went back to scrutinize the pics. Except for hose clamps, that's almost a reference car.

That car is beautiful. Wouldn't work here without A/C but it would be tempting just the same. Nice score.

Gorgeous car, congrats! I want it!!! Love, love, love that roofline!

Thanks guys...wow! Great encouragement here at FCBO! I appreciate it. I really like the car A LOT and feel really blessed to get it. There isn't even one door ding in the body side moldings, wheel opening moldings...(or body panels). They're still so shiny too. Unbelievable! All the original spot welds along the bottom of the quarters, around the rear wheel wells, along the bottom of the rockers are all still there. None have been filled in with bondo. It sure looks like all the paint is original too. Has that factory orange peel in it that I remember so well. It's simply amazing. How on earth did this car make it through 48 years in this condition. There is one thing I don't like though...and it happened before it even left the dealer. The dealer applied their die-cast chromed advertising logo/name (Russ Darrow - Appleton) to the left side of the trunk lid via 2 little screws. Not so sure what I'm going to do about that. I want it off but...I'll have two holes if I do.

Here's a few more photos...even got the original window sticker with the car...

You lucky sonofagun, Bob! I saw that one on ebay and kept going back to admire it, then the auction went 'no longer available'.
I wondered if the pics of it had been 'optimized' with lighting and such, as there's just too much shine, but your pics show that thing genuinely looks that good.

I felt the same way about my 68 when I first bought it, except I didn't need to inspect it, the instant I saw it I knew I was going to buy it. That was 1997, and she's still here. She had that same exact look to her except in white, exterior exactly like yours but wearing double-stripe whitewalls.

Mine has been garaged most of its life too, but I have the rain-drip-lines on the chrome on my front bumper, and you don't.

And yes, keep that dealer tag on back, that's part of the car's pedigree. You'll stop seeing it much faster than you'd stop seeing 2 holes, or touchup paint that doesn't match.

Nice car! I agree you should keep the dealer nameplate. I have the one that came with my Dart, but it's beat up and will never go back on the car, but I'm glad I have it. Nowadays you get a cheesy decal, bleh.

Lose the clamps....keep the nameplate.

What a great find! I hope you enjoy it and share lots of pics with us!
