Thanks, I had it marked 78 on the box, but looked on ebay and some one had it listed as 77-78. Thanks for letting me know .

1978 only.

1977 still had the clock with the hands on it.

The hand clock was standard equipment...the optional 74-77 Chronometer had wheels that spun like the old alarm clocks. The side thumb wheel adjusted the time...only pic I could readily find is a 77 Cordoba unit, but you get the idea.

Totally agree but the clock in post #1 was only available in 1978 models. Standard in a NY'er and optional in a Newport. That particular clock was new for 1978.
 
Actually they're all digital. 1978 uses a vacuum florescent display (VFD).

I can't believe the one in my 78 NYB is 40 years old and still works perfectly.
 
I've seen digital clocks in other vehicles than ran fast or slow.
