This car is not mine, just found it on CL and am posting it here… At the time of posting, this CL listing is 3 days old. 1936 Studebaker Dictator - $10,900 - Ottsville, Pa. Pennsylvania CL Description 1936 Studebaker Dictator 58,100 miles. Clean. Original headliner in nice shape. Top back edge of seats has some fabric failure and front floor mat has been removed. Some age related paint shrink lines. Electric fuel pump.
I haven't thought about those cars in a long time. I love the look of the '37. I actually know where there is a '37 rotting away in a field of Studes' probably 15 minutes from me. But the guy is a little weird and wants an arm for it, and the rest of his stuff.
What a great car! Original headliner at that age, that's amazing. The rest appears very original too. I love the symmetry of the dash. Looks like the choke closes half? of the intake, and opens the exhaust to the entire engine compartment? The domed part on the firewall is interesting, possibly a gravity oiler?
Lovely car. Amazing to have survived this long in original condition. Unfortunately, being offered for sale may doom it to a future street rod. That would be a shame.
Street rod, I could accept. I hope not as it appears to be a nice original car, and I don't really expect it to become one since it's a 4 door, but at this price point a "rat rodder" might rape it. That is not acceptable.
