Probably as they're sportier (or thought to be sportier) cars than the majority of C-bodies, let alone being a more compact size and thus are more likely to fit today's smaller carports and garages. It's also likely there are more parts available than for a C-body.

I hear you. Looks like a nice rust free CA car, I'd guess a repaint since I'd think it would be faded by now, but, 318/Auto, looks like the tan interior, about as bland as they came back then.

My parents bought a brown (or "Tahitian Gold" as my dad would say whenever anybody commented on the color!) 1973 SSP with a 318 brand new back in the day. I think this was the top of the line Satellite.
I think these go for extra money because people can turn them into Road Runner clones (which is what my 17 year old self wanted to do til my parents sold it out from under me!!) Even so I think 18k is high.
