1969 Chrysler Imperial
Thomasville, NC · 21 hours ago
$1,000

Selling my papaws 1969 Chrysler Imperial Lebaron. He was the second owner and it is now titled to my mom. Has a clean title. It has been in our family since the early 1970's. She put new tires on it several years ago and had someone get it to run. However, it hasn't been cranked in 3 years. Life happened and she couldn't finish restoring it. It has no dents anywhere and never been wrecked. The vinyl top of course is in bad shape. But all emblems, chrome, wheels etc are here and all original. Been in a garage till 3 years ago. Considering the age the body is in remarkable condition. The interior needs work. Someone did all the damage to be spiteful. I took photos of the motor but, couldn't find the model or numbers on it. Located in cental NC.

Saving it sounds good in theory, but your gonna spend 20k at a minimum to restore it. Probably closer to 40k by the time it is all said and done. you would have to be a very passionate person to do it.

Wow, triple black, this would be gorgeous if someone had the means to finish it. It looks like it has good bones but who knows what the underneath looks like after sitting out for three years. Is it my imagination or does that steering wheel look a little wonky?

Tilt wheel all the way up,tele all the way out??
looks funny based on the angle of the picture taken and the wheel is not centered (It is turning right)

True, but why cant it be made decent for a nice driver without spending thousands? Would not have to be a concours restoration to made useful and have some fun....

If executed in a tastefull manner, yeah.
We all know the Imps are majestic luxury cars that should look only their best in a wedding tuxedo or formal clothing.
Right now the poor Imp looks like a homeless person in a tattered three piece suit.
Not the kind of car you can envision as cut off jeans and a tank top shirt.

I agree. I don't like the idea of something that winds up on the epic whoops thread here. I'd rather see someone drive it and enjoy it while working on it, than have it turned into parts, when it could be saved.

The car is pending. I've asked for tag info. She said maybe this weekend.
Hopefully not a derby car.

Most of the mess in the interior looks more like critter damage than vandalism. That said, it is fairly priced at the current level.

If it were closer to my home, I'd seriously consider snagging it! I KNOW how to make a daily driver out of a car like that AND put it in better condition. Folks all over town here see what we've done with Mathilda and what we're DOING with her. I especially respect folk's Pawpaw's cars too. Damn!

Hold.
My.
Beer.

When this car is in the derby there will be plenty of cut offs and tank tops in the crowd.
But I would put the front clip on a newport and the fender extensions and bumper. Add dash.
Add cutoffs and tank top.
Imperial clone.

I would buy it In minute. if I could store it anyway.
Buy the car and you can have free storage at my place till you can get it home. I have 40 acers of woods. I have a few cars out there. I just hate to see the derby pukes get hold of it cause that's whats gonna happen at that low price. I fight them off of my 3 imperials I have that I had 1 up for sale and I was asking $3K

2800 miles is a grip for a parts car. But I'd love to have it. Only to build a two door though.
It is crazy what some derby guys pay for a car. There has been damn nice ones parted on ebay that nets there original investment or more . Also some derbys pay real money.
They recieved some salvation out here when derbys started banning imperials.
There was a traveling team of them that would come to my home town. I think they would pick the winner and divide the take a month before the derby.

Somehow storing cars outside in 40 acres of woods doesn't seem like a great idea ever...

If you could mate a rusted out Imp. with a good interior with this car you may stand a chance as long as a decent drive train is available.69,s are always worth saving if possible.B.B

Would anybody be so kind to pass me contact-data of the seller, please? Phone# or email?

Do not have an FB-account...

Thanks a lot!
