Ok two questions my American cousins!!

I bought these 47 tail lights from a swap meet here in GB just cause they looked nice and were cheap!
does anyone know what ALD stands for? its stamped on both inner faces of the chrome surround!?!

and a friend of mine showed me this external fan which looks factory and was fitted to
an early 70's Monaco wagon, is it an optional electric fan, if so how common is it?
it doesn't have a pentastar on it yet the bracket is specific!

Based on the size of the connector plug, I would say it is about a 7" blade.
