The ornament was used on Formal Plymouths, I think that at least 74-76 high-priced Furies (like the Gran Sedan) got it.
 
After going out of style in the 60s, (and because of safety concerns with fixed mountings) hood ornaments(now mounted on springs) came back into style in the early 70s. It could probably be attributed to Mercedes, which never dropped them.

Most 70s through early 90s luxury-car styling is essentially 1930s retro.
 
I think this was the first year for that hood ornament and the only Fuselage body that sported it, 73 only.
