Was the original carpet a 80/20 loop? I need to replace the carpet in one of my 300’s convertible. Where is the best place and price to purchase carpet? Thank you in advance for the help.

All the molded carpet is made by Auto Custom Carpets. The best was Trim Auto, but they were bought by ACC a while ago.

My vendor of choice is Auto Carpet for Car, Truck, Van - Stock Interiors They seem to be the most consistent with price and the service has been good in my experience.

I'm not sure if the original was 80/20 or nylon loop. I've always used 80/20 and it seems to be a good match to original. I suggest ordering samples first.

I actually bought my carpet from Rock Auto, 80/20 loop. They listed it as being for the coup, but it fit the convertible perfectly. It was less money then any of the other vendors and the extra 5% coupon was a plus. It came in an ACC box so I know it was the same carpet that others were offering for more money.

My carpeting is loop.

Thank you for the info. You have 80/20 in your car? If it’s good enough for your car it will work for me.

How long ago did you purchase your carpet? I look on Rock Auto yesterday and I didn’t see a listing for it.

Will the 2dr listing fit the convertible?
I really don't know. The one in my car was from Trim Parts before they closed.

I did put a new carpet from ACC in my '65 300L. That carpet had enough extra in the back seat platform (or whatever you would call it) area. The problem has been they didn't give you enough extra to cover the area around the edge of the rear seat. Judging by this, it's probably OK, but a call to Stock Interiors may tell you better.

One reason I suggest Stock Interiors is they seem to have a direct line to ACC from what I've seen.

More Information for ACC 10813230

This is the one I bought, probably a few years ago. I went with no mass backing because I was putting down Fat Mat sound deadening material.

Did the carpet fit your convertible?

My '65 300L rear carpet. I took this pic before trimming because I was thinking of the convertibles and 4 dr sedans as we've discussed it a bit on here.

It fits great lengthwise, but the width was a little tricky. That could also be that this was my first carpet install. I had to do a lot of re-adjusting to make sure the carpet would stay under the sill plates.

I found that to be true with the 300L carpet too.

I think it's best to let the carpet "settle" for a few days, preferably with some time in the hot sun, before trimming the edges. You can always trim more, but can't put it back on.

Gotta throw in the tip of using an old soldering iron to make holes for seat belts etc.

I don't see any reason why a 2d HT carpet would not fit a 2d Convertible. They share the same floorpan, don't they?
As to the carpet itself, I cast my vote on ACC 80/20 Nylon Loop Style. It is exact match to the original.
(A couple of photos of my former 4d HT. The carpet was a piece of cake to replace.)

I was told to buy the 80/20 and for a convertible to get the 4 door sedan. It fits perfect

The problem was that the carpet was usually cut too short for the convertible rear seat. The floor pans in the cars are identical AFIK.

When you look at the convertible rear seat, it's slightly narrower to allow for the top mechanism in the side panels. Because it's narrower, you can see the carpet on the side. If my car wasn't put away for winter, I'd snap a picture... I found this picture from @tvaluke in another thread instead where the carpet would be visible in a convertible. I think it would also be visible in a 4 door with it's rounded off rear seat, which is why this statement by @jmustian makes sense.

There was another discussion about this where a guy that did YouTube videos was talking with ACC about the problem. I can't find that right now.... But I think he may have made some progress.

Here's a picture from @MrMoparCHP where the carpet was ending. (I think this is his car) He also marked up the above pic, showing what the carpet didn't cover.
