I know some will think it's half-*** but before I put the engine back in and everything back together I just wanted to do that best I could without taking fenders and wheels wells off.

Used chassis saver satin black. One coat down. After I get rid of this headache from the smell and it dries up, I'll do a second coat this afternoon.

Heck, that’s the way I’d do it too.
We don’t all have the $, space or equipment for a full on restore.
Drop the motor back in and enjoy your car.
 
You did well.
Looks fine to me.
My original fenders were fubar so I took them off.
With the stub still attached to the car, I painted with Tremclad black paint. (Rustoleum in the USA)
I repainted the firewall since I was there anyways.

That's a lot of work. I'd say your job is more like 7/8th-assed, and it looks pretty darn good to me.
