Okay, for the next debacle. I pulled the power seats out of my '69 300 and the tracks be looking funky. You have the usual assortment of still standing original studs, replacement carriage bolt studs and a sundry of washers evening things out.

Does anyone have a picture or two of stock seat tracks, either unadulterated or restored correctly, that they can post up ? These buggers are heavy and I'd rather not have to trial and error them in and out of the car.

Thanks,
Pete

Hello . I have some pictures of when I installed the electric seat mechanism in my 69 fury convertible . Your correct when you said there heavy! I hope these help , there not the best pictures. The power seat mechanisms came from a 71 imperial and they fit perfectly in my 69 fury .some of the pictures show the finish cover over the outside of the rails . Good luck

It’s actually easy but the seats are extremely heavy when all put together.I recommend that you get help to help carry and install them back in the car!!! I did it myself ,it took everything I had to carry and then set them in place in the car. I paid the price with a sore back for a couple days. I took my time over a weekend to clean and lube every thing. The seats actually move back farther than the manual ones did making them much more comfortable for me. If you get the P/S mechanism from the same body style car they will bolt up no problem to the seat and car. Be sure to measure all mounting studs before carrying a 95 lb seat to the car. Some mounting studs on the seat can be moved to give more leg room. All in all it was on the easy side , I would say it was a 12 beer job in total

One thing I should mention is that all P/S are wired to a constant power circuit and not a switched power. All power seats are this way so they can be adjusted before the car is started. My live power for the seats came from my convertible roof circuit with a separate circuit breaker installed before the seats for safety. This made the wiring end of it very easy for in my car.

Excellent work, Welderguy - (to post that up, I mean!).
That steering wheel looks very dark - is that one of those 66-67-ish 'suicide' steering wheels? And what color is it? Tell more, please!
Is the depth on it OK? I installed one of the B-body woodgrain wheels in my 68 but the dish is shallower and sometimes when turning the wheel my fingers will hit the TS lever, which is mildly annoying.

It is a 67 Mopar recall wheel . It was used in the 67 chargers for a while. Though it’s called the recall wheel there is no actual proof it was recalled by ma Mopar but I really liked the look and it fit perfectly in my car. I have since had it restored

I did a thread called: Sunday morning autumn shots 69 sport fury convertible . It tells the story of my steering wheel

I recently disassembled, cleaned, adjusted, greased, oiled....the slides, bellcranks, pivots, gearboxes, drive cables, etc for both my power seats. Lots of moving parts, and yeah.....crazy heavy!

And yes, this cleaned gearbox got a lot more grease before it went back together.

I did a bench seat about 15 years ago, so half the work, and it was still very time-consuming!

FWIW, the '69 and '70 power seat switch is different.

Crappy pic from eBay of a broken '69/'70 bucket seat switch.
