Are you sure you have that right?

ABC says $850 on the website and my memory says that Just Dashes has been over $1K on much simpler pads for at least a decade now.

ABC Moparts does things differently AFAIU. @saforwardlook can explain the differences. Not dissing JD as they are my first choice to fix an unusual 1970 Polara dash (three speakers but no AC) that ABC does not produce.

Its not the same kind of work............................

And you have your prices mixed up - it is the other way around, even though for me, I would gladly pay much more for a new reproduction dash pad from ABC Moparts anyday. They reproduce NEW dashpads just like the factory did them - in a new authentic reproduction mold.

And in general, Bob's reproduction parts are better quality than the originals such as in the case of bucket seat side and rear panels that are fiberglass, not the cheap plastic that Chrysler used to make them and they still look just like the Chrysler original parts. Same can be said for the interior C pillar covers he makes as well. There are more examples............

We all owe Bob a great deal of gratitude for all his efforts to make these parts for us and he is an avid Mopar guy himself. So we should support him whenever we can.

Just dashes takes your old brittle, cracked dashpad and "repairs" it and then covers them with vinyl so that all the character lines get faded out and if your car is parked in the sun for any length of time, those overlays tend to bubble up sometimes from what I have seen. In other words, they look like they have just been covered up. And I hear the wait time for Just Dashes currently is around six months.

I provided Bob Baker of ABC Moparts with many of the pads he reproduces just because I wanted authentic reproductions, not coverups. That meant that some perfect original dashpads got destroyed in the process, but I felt it was well worth it for many of us that really love our Mopars looking like new - not just OK.

The only way I would consider Just Dashes is if they were the only game in town for a specific car.........as Ayilar is going to do in his particular case.

You can go to the ABCmoparts.com website and see for yourself that your price is wrong unless you are including a core cost and shipping or ???

And Just Dashes is well known to be well over $1000 for years now without shipping costs, so something is wrong with your results. .................

It appears that ABC doesn't make the 70 Polara dash just the 71 Polara. Strange. FWIW about 10 years ago JD did the pad on my 68 Monaco 500. It still looks like new.

And you live in a very cold climate most of the year Fred and probably don't expose your car to the elements often. How come I haven't seen any photos of your car - or have I been asleep? :D

Bob told me he doesn't make the 69-70 Dodge pad because the call for them has been weak, and in fact, few on this site seem to pony up for one of his reproductions because of the cost regardless of the model (and the 70 pads have at least two different versions depending on date of production). I believe he told me that his investment in each pad is something like $10K to get the molds made and to get them set up for reproduction. If folks won't step up to the plate, our prospects for him to make more of them is poor. The business case just isn't there. And then we will all have to go the just dashes route.

Fortunately, over the last 35 years plus, I have saved up some really pristine dashpads for the cars for which I will need them, so my chances of going the Just Dashes route is slim............ The lack of detail just bugs me.....................

Unless I am mistaken, the dashes are the same for Plymouth and Dodge for '71-'73. The '69 and '70 Dodge dashes are different from one another (in fact, as @polara71 explained back in 2014 and further discussed last month, there are two different ones for 1970), and they differ from the contemporaneous Plymouth dashes. I am sorry that Bob does not reproduce the Dodge dashes, but I can understand his decision.
Thanks for the correction. If I had a '72, I would not think twice about it and would go with Bob's dashes at ABC Moparts. Original as @saforwardlook mentioned, and cheaper to boot. I have a 1970 dash to repair, so it will be JD for me — see details here.
