Hi everyone. I am a lifelong C-body fan and I finally just bought one! I got a 1969 Polara former police car. It's got the HP 440 and is awesome. Can't wait to start restoring it!

Hi,

welcome on board.
There were lately two 69 k-code police Polara on ebay.
Did you buy one of them?
If so which one?

Carsten

Welcome to the site from the Motor City! Let's see some pics.

Welcome. There are many big fans of the Mopar cop cars on this site. Post some pics when you can.

I bought the black and white one. It has the CHP spec package, but was used by a different department.

Do you know which department?

Unless the seller had more info or the car speaks I'm going with Santa Clara County (the greater San Jose, CA area) as I saw a 71 Polara with the same equipment setup on the roof.

I think you're right, Mr. Mopar. It seems really well preserved. I will bring it back to fighting shape! The interror is shot and most of the floor is rusted out. However, the trunk is rust free and the body is super straight. It never had spotlights or a whip antenna, so I don't have those holes to worry about.

I saw the Jay Leno's Garage episode, where he drove the CHP Polara (I think it was Ron Hurwitz' car). Awesome! I recently saw Jay Leno while I was working Mulholland Dr. at "the lookout". Like a dummy, I forgot to mention the Polara! Oh well.

I would look close at this area, it seams to be a common place on these cars for rust...

Mine has a little bit there, maybe 1/8 inch wide here and there. Can that be filled somehow or does the entire window need to come out?
