I think I have a few broken teeth on the sector gear of my left rear window regulator. (circled in picture) I've lubricated everything, there a no binds, and the electric motor works just fine. I'd even say it works very well, except for one spot. When the window reaches a certain point, up or down, the motor just spins. Push down or pull up on the window just a little, and it will start moving again. I took the door panel off, and I can see the pinion gear spinning, so it's fine. I can even spin the motor shaft by hand, and the window doesn't move. I ran my finger along the larger gear. I can't see it, because it's inside the door, but I can feel a spot on the larger gear where a tooth may be missing. I'm also fairly certain it's the large gear, because it only happens at one point. If the pinion gear was stripped, it would happen throughout the window travel.

So, my questions:
- Did Imperials have a unique rear window regulator, or was the mechanism shared with other Chryslers?
- The parts of the regulator are all riveted together, so I assume I will need to replace the whole thing. Even if I can repair it, the regulator needs to come out, which is not described well in the service manual. Any tips?
- Is there an easier fix I don't know about?
- I've seen guys fix a gear by booger welding the missing spot and then filing the weld into shape, but I'm not an experienced welder, and at that point the regulator would be out of the door anyway, so why bother?
