Has anyone had any plastic dash bezzels parts replated and if so how did they come out.. Also is there a plating company in Florida that can do these pieces, I have a few dash pieces I would like redone for my 65 880 Convertible,, I,m like an Old Crow,,, I like shiny things,,, Catfish 65 (Dave)
You can try this... Silicone Mold Rubber, Polyurethane Mold Rubber, Casting Resin, Bare-Metal Foil I've heard it works well.
I had ac vents for my GTO done by ChromeTech years ago. (maybe 20 yrs) At the time they were just plating plastic model car and plane parts. My vents came out beautifully. They then started doing 1:1 dash and interior parts. There are companies like “Just Dashes”that can restore your bezels including any trim painting required.
This is one possibility,Spectra Chrome – Advanced "Spray-On" Chrome Technology Here in our area is one car painter who do this and it works well. If there is someone doing this,you may ask can they help you. Regards, Mika
I had mine vacuum plated here in Australia. I actually did a spare set to put away at the same time. Finish was very good.
