I saw this pop up on eBay but they took the ad down because there was a "error in the listing" I however can't find it in the inventory on their website....but..it's also not in their "Sold" section...huh.. Does anyone here have any history on this one? 1969 Dodge Polara 500 | eBay https://www.garrettclassics.com
@amazinblue82 found DM27G9D105073 for sale in Texas a couple of years ago. Asking price then was $34k.
Nicely optioned and the best colors. I agree, stripes and pipes need to go away, but they look to be vinal, so, no problem.
960 VON = promo car. Also notice the serial number as further proof cars were not built on their SPD nor in sequence. To believe the factory kicked out 5,000+ cars on day one of production stretches things a little.... Orange 383-2bbl with a/c
Promo cars were internally ordered just like a sales bank. A Chrysler employee had to sit down and check boxes on an order form either way.
So why wouldn't this be say, Y91?or another Y code? I guess I'm asking what would trigger a Y91 or other Y code rather than a Y16?
Oh how I wished I already knew things like that......I would LOVE to see the book or memo describing how tags were to be coded and what codes took precedence over other codes. Your question, again, reinforces WHY we need to save and share things like broadcast sheets and other factory documents. The only way we can learn some things is to reverse engineer the documents available. I was referencing the engine was painted orange.
Thanks Doug, I always enjoy your wisdom, Especially on the field. More in depth explanation face to face.
my old 69 Sport Fury vert had the VIN PH27L9D100162 It was coded for an SPD 714 It had the "96" VON and an Y91 code 2nd fender tag called it "show car" Carsten
I had a R6 69 GTX. I loved the color. In bright sunshine it was RED..... Under parking lot mercury lighting it was more orange than Vitamin C. The name was "performance red" Changed from Barracuda Orange.
I agree but you loose double points for the resale red (original or not) To me the best combo ever is B5 with a white interior and top. Alan
