The issue with non-factory service manuals, even the Chiltons and MOTOR and others is that they are not model-year-specific, but "representative" of several years of vehicles. Now, there IS some generalities between years, but not always. The major things might not have changed every year, but some DETAILS of those things might have.
Be SURE to secure the screw in the ground terminal for the cluster lighting that's in the strip of illumination lights, that's basically over the steering column, but unseen as it and hidden until you feel around for it. That's the ground terminal for the section of the instrument panel the gauges are in. No ground, no lights, as the lights "shine on", rather than the individual gauges being back-lit, as on prior and later generations of C-body cars.
